Unleashed Pet Portraits

My two passions are art and science and I was forced to choose between these when continuing on to higher education. I chose art and went on to complete a Diploma in Visual Art. I made some great lifelong friends and also gained some great skills (if you ever need to know how to do bronze casting or acid etching I’m your woman!) but it was a class where I began using a camera as a tool where I found my two true passions coming together. The next year I decided to study photography and went on to finish an Advanced Diploma in Photography.

Since graduating, I’ve worked in the photographic industry as an Associate Photographer and Production Manager for Frances Andrijich and as a Professional Image Retoucher. Work has involved everything from, travelling to breathtakingly beautiful destinations across the state to meeting all sorts of different people with interesting stories to tell. I’d have to say my favourite job and what drew me to pet photography was helping to photograph the last two Guide Dogs WA calendars.

I love animals! I grew up around dogs and cats and they have always been an important part of my family. Our dog Frida (a labrador x kelpie we got from the RSPCA) is the heart and soul of our lives and the most loyal friend any one could ask for. The time we have with our pets is precious. Photography is a way to make those memories last a lifetime.
