RSPCA – Animal Care (Devonport) summary:
Devonport Animal Care Centre
Our three Animal Care Centres provide care and assistance to surrendered, neglected, unwanted, sick or injured animals. Each year we see an average of 5,000 animals come through our doors. We help all creatures great and small including; dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, horses, pigs, goats, sheep, cattle and even alpacas! All animals are given medical and behavioural assessments, provided with any veterinary care or behavioural rehabilitation they need before becoming available for adoption. Our staff take the time to get to know each animal so that we can find the most suitable loving homes for them. All animals available for adoption.
Animals available for adoption are:
- Vet checked
- Behaviour assessed
- Treated for worms and fleas
- Up to date with their vaccinations
135 animals in shelter, 10 Foster Carers, 30 Volunteers, 270 meals fed per day
Our animals and staff depend on regular and reliable volunteer assistance. We have a strong commitment to training our staff and volunteers so that the highest of standards are maintained. We therefore ask that our volunteers commit to a regular shift – this helps the volunteer gain the skills required to meet our high standards and allows them to get the most value out of becoming a trusted member of our team. It also ensures that the time and effort put in by our staff in training volunteers is utilised and of benefit to the animals in our care.
