My love of animals started from a very young age… My mother owned a horse in the early years of my life. A brumby in fact! Quite possibly where my love of horses came from. Looking back on photographs that my grandfather had taken (he was a keen amateur photographer). It was all recorded on film then carefully developed in his home dark room to produce a beautiful photograph.

I look back on those photographs and realise the importance of printing images, they remind us, take us back to a time, a feeling we had in that moment that may have been forgotten.
I studied photography in high school and learnt the fundamentals of exposure, depth of field and making the old film Pentax work!
My favourite part of the whole process was seeing if the film I had developed had what I thought I had captured! Sitting in class we would work at our station determining expose times and watching our work turn into photographs! Some successful some not!!!

Fast forward a few years……… The planets align and I start pushing myself beyond friends and family, my portfolio builds and I take a path of family portraits and weddings. I had been mulling over my pet photography for a long time and at the start of 2013 I started doing something about it! And here I am!

Never underestimate the importance of a great photograph. Professional photographs are taken with love and processed to the highest quality.
